Soundtrack is a melody conducted for a movie. It can be music accompaniment for every material for example documental movie, cartoon or shooter. In particular cases US abbreviation OST is used, it is decoded as Original movie Soundtrack and means professionally created and performed music for a movie that is marketed on a single CD not in conjunction with the film it was performed for.
Music following for a movie or a TV show not rarely starts it's separate life, sometimes such OST's popularity exceeds the film itself.
